For new users - Introduction guide to Paktor

In order to start making friends, please download or update Paktor app from the Apple's App Store or Google Play Store. Then, please follow the tutorial within the app to get used to Paktor.

With Paktor, you can see pictures, name, age, distance, heights of other people. To start a conversation, please make sure that the person you liked also want to talk with you, which means that they also have to like your profile back by swiping right onto your profile.

How to change app language? 如何切換語言? 언어 설정은 어떻게 바꿀 수 있죠?

In the “Home” tab, select "Filters” icon, then select "App" section. Choose "Language" to change.

How to change my name, gender, age or height?

You can follow these steps:

  1. Tap on "Me"
  2. Tap on the gender, age or height you would like to change.
At this moment, you will not be able to change the name and age on your own - you could click "contact us" and do give us the name you hope to display, we will be most glad to help you out.

Why does my personal data always change back after being clarified?

The information you provided will be synchronized if you sign up with your Facebook account when you re-log in again, e.g. name. We suggest you change your Facebook personal information so that you don't have to alter with Paktor again.

Who is Paktor Help?

Paktor Help is our customer service folks who are hoping to resolve any questions that you have on the App.

There we hope to provide you a tutorial, the frequently asked questions, contact us page and also a link to offline events where you can meet people who are interested in expanding their social circle!

What happens when I swipe left or swipe right?

If you like a person you swipe right, if you dislike a person you swipe left. Don’t forget that the more you swipe, the more matches you will have.

What are points for?

You can send a Chat request by spending 1000 points as an invitation or ask a question with your points. It may help to get more attention too.

How to purchase points?

To purchase more point, you need to have a Premium Membership first. Then select the token icon on the top right corner of the screen and access the A La Carte card, you will see a range of Paktor point packages. Simply make a selection on any of the price packages and you will be able to purchase them.

What are the differences between "chat request", "question" and "like"?

Chat request, question and like are invitations to start a conversation. You would have the access to view who have liked you from "INTEREST" if you are our Premium member.

Chat request and questions will be displayed in "CONNECT" for all users.

What are "Wink" messages?

The Wink messages you received are direct match request messages, from compatible girls. Wink is a free feature on female side. The chats aren't spams. Only females who activate Wink have indicated that they would like to chat with more males.

Notice: Wink messages function is available in certain countries.

You can purchase Premium membership to reply these messages!

What is "Photo Rating"?

Users have to upload 4 photos and above in their profile, then they can get their photos rated. If you upload 1-3 photos, yout photos will not be rated and there will be a message in me screen saying: "uh-oh! you need to upload X more photo(s) to have them rated"

Upon uploading 4 photos and above and if your photos are not being rated, in the "me screen", there will be a text bubble saying "Still gathering ratings".

If your photos are rated, the highest rated photo will be indicated with a crown and the corresponding rating percentage in the "Me" page.

What is "Sacrifice"?

When you "sacrifice" a match, you will receive 99 points. The match will automatically disappear from your match list. (Including the conversations)

How to un-sacrifice a user?

You will not be able to revert someone you have already sacrificed in Paktor.

How can I change or filter the users I see?

In the “Home” tab, select “Filters” icon on the top left hand corner. Here you will see a number of options to refine the types of users you see.

  1. Males and/or Females.
  2. Hide from friends - your profile will not be shown to any users with whom you are friends on Facebook.
  3. Preferred age: select the age range of users you want to see.
  4. Filter by Distance - allows you to see only users within the distance you specify on the slider. The slider is in meters up to 999 meters, at which point the scale changes to kilometers up to the maximum distance of 10,000 kilometers. Countries will show up below the distance slider as they come within the range specified on the distance slider.
  5. Filter by Country - allows you to select users from specific countries.
Only Paktor members can gain access to our advanced filters: filter by height, job, and education level

Why do I get profiles that are outside my filters?

You will usually get profiles that are outside your filters once the profiles within your original selections are exhausted. This is also our hope to let you consider more profiles!

Cannot see who liked/viewed you

To view who like/view your profile, you need to purchase Premium membership to unlock this Premium feature!

In fact, you only need to "swipe right" on profiles to like. When both parties anonymously like each other, both will get match and can freely talk to each other.

My matches disappeared!

There are few reasons for your matches to disappear:

  1. This happened as your match must have blocked you from his or her side or self deleted account.
  2. The user is being detected as a spammer so he/she is banned from our system
  3. Your chat room is not active for days so the system delete your conversation.
We hope you find someone new to continue dating journey with Paktor. Hope this clarifies.

Why is that my conversations and matches are all gone?

This happened when you have more than one Paktor account. The accounts you have are not synchronized.

Please try to login with (the original method where you have registered previously) :

  1. Apple / Google
  2. Facebook account

What is the difference between a non-paid subscription and paid subscription?

With Premium subscription package, you can get access to features such as:

  • premium filters like height and country
  • viewing people who have liked you
  • viewing suggested profiles
  • receiving daily Paktor points to send gifts and direct messages
  • reply unlimited to any Direct Request messages from compatible people
There are 1 month, 6 months and 12 months subscription packages for you to choose from Membership subscription can also be enabled and managed from Paktor Home tab Subscription payment will be charged to the iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. All packages are auto- renewable subscriptions which means the subscription will be automatically renewed when it runs out unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during active subscription period.

Why are subscription prices in USD?

Currency charges are based on the country setting your iTunes Store or Google Play Store.
Please kindly check your country settings.

How to pay for my subscription?

Paktor app is cooperating with your platforms (app Store or Google Play)
There are:

  1. Credit Card payment
  2. With your phone bill
Above are the payment methods available now.

Recover subscription when purchase failed

This issue occurred as our system failed to connect our subscription with your paid account in iTunes/Android. However, you can restore your membership by perform a few simple steps as following:

  1. Open Paktor app, in the "Home" tab, tap on the ring icon on the top right corner
  2. Select "Your purchase" section
  3. Tap on "Restore purchases"
  4. A prompt will appear telling "Would you like us to try to restore purchases from your iTunes/Google Play account?". Choose "Yes"
  5. Your premium membership should be reflected

I have the premium membership but it's not reflected in my app

Let's try this to see if it works.

Go to the Paktor store view then tap on the shopping cart located at the top right corner. Pull the screen down, then select OK to restore purchases. The process might take some time.

Why does Paktor auto renew the subscription without approval?

Subscriptions on Google Play/Apple Store renew automatically unless you unsubscribe. If you don't want the subscription to renew, you can cancel the subscription on Google Play/Apple iTunes. You can also change the payment method used for a subscription or membership. Sometimes you can also change the subscription frequency.

The moment you hit 'Subscribe' button, you agree to authorise Google Play/Apple iTunes (not Paktor) to renew your membership when the current one about to end.

Important: Uninstalling an app will not automatically stop your subscription. You must cancel your subscription to end your subscription. If you uninstall the app without canceling your subscription, you will still be charged. If an app you've purchased a subscription for is removed from Google Play/Apple iTunes, your future subscription will be automatically canceled but past subscriptions will not be refunded.

Finally, when you cancel a subscription you will still have access to your subscription for the remainder of time you have already paid for.

For example, if you purchased a one-year subscription on Jan. 1 for $10 and decide to cancel your subscription on July 1, you will have access to the subscription until Dec. 31. But you will not be charged another yearly subscription of $10 the following Jan. 1.

How to cancel my membership - iOS

Unfortunately we do not have the ability to cancel your subscription after it has begun as we are restricted by iTunes to alter any user's subscription on their behalf

If you purchased a subscription using an Apple device or iTunes, Apple requires that you cancel your subscription through the Apple App Store on your Apple device, or through iTunes on your computer.

To cancel your subscription, please turn off the automatic renewal of your subscription through the Apple App Store or iTunes.

How to cancel my membership - Android

Unfortunately we do not have the ability to cancel your subscription after it has begun as we are restricted by Google Play to alter any user's subscription on their behalf

If you purchased a subscription using an Android device, Google Play requires that you cancel your subscription through the Google Play on your Android device.

To cancel your subscription, please choose cancel your subscription through your Google Play account.

How to report a user, fake accounts or spammers?

In order to report someone you matched, please follow these steps:

  1. Open Paktor app
  2. Go to "Connect" section to check your matches
  3. Choose the conversation of the matches you want to report
  4. Tap on the avatar icon to access user's profile
  5. Roll down to the end and tap on "Report" button to report that person
In order to report someone you see at "home", please follow these steps:
  1. Open Paktor app
  2. Go to "Home" section to access to different users
  3. Choose the user you want to report
  4. Hold the profile card and swipe up to see the "Report user" button
  5. Tap on the button to report that person

How to turn off notifications?

To turn off specific notifications from Paktor, you may proceed by going to ‘me’ page, then navigate to ‘app’ settings to switch off unwanted notis from us.

However, to entirely refuse to receive notifications from Paktor, you have to turn off the app’s notifications within your device’s settings.

Cannot log-in/Update new version

Please delete your Paktor app and reinstall it. If possible, please set off Facebook authorization for Paktor in Facebook setting to reconnect again.

Technical issues

  1. Ensuring that your app and phone are updated - head to your app store and update your app
  2. Force close and reopen the app
  3. Restart your phone

How do I delete my account?

In order to delete your Paktor account, please follow these steps:

  1. Open Paktor app
  2. Go to the "Me" section
  3. Navigate to "App" tab
  4. Roll down to the end and click the button "Delete account" to delete your account directly on Paktor.
After that, your account will be deleted completely from Paktor system.

Please make sure to terminate your subscription via Google Play Store or iTunes as per terms and conditions stated on their website so you're not charged again.
